Deliver a workshop that prepared technical people with sales skills for a critical prospecting event.
First we took the time to understand the clientβs niche industry deeply. In fact so deeply that we wowed the client with timber sales knowledge on the first day. We designed an interactive program that broke down the sales elements into achievable skills of connection, engagement and closing with activities that progressed in challenge.
A noisy, fun interactive program they didnβt expect. We gave them multiple opportunities to try fail, receive feedback, then try again and succeed, each time increasing their confidence. They practiced both in their own languages and in English so that they could engage with multicultural clients. At their exhibition they were ready to engage, connect and developed many hot leads which led to new business.
My background: Iβm originally from the UK and Iβve lived in Hong Kong for over 20 years. My family is English and Cantonese which means I adapt well to multicultural environments. Over 25 years of human resources experience: Iβve been an HR manager a learning & development manager and I was the head of recruitment for both Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Royal Bank of Scotland Coutts. I know banking deeply, but I also thrive in designing and delivering learning for niche industries.
